Measuring For UniFit Window Blinds

Very, very simple - all we are looking for is the visible glass size, width and drop ideally in millimetres to provide the necessary accuracy. UniFit can be applied to any type of glazed window and door units including - externally mitred uPVC, wooden framed, bi-folds and aluminium framed extrusions.

Our default 'fix' is via specialist glazing adhesive tape on the back of two side strips along the drop of the window and the actual fixing brackets form part of these strips in order for the main blind unit to be clipped on. However we can also offer an alternative to the adhesive option with side clips brackets that slide behind the window beading.

Fitting UniFit Window Blinds

All made to measure units will arrive manufactured to the size you provide less a couple of millimetres either side in order to accommodate the blind units.

Adhesion fix requires preparation of the glass with the provided cleaning wipes in order to ensure total side extrusion contact to the glass. A specialist glazing adhesive tape on the rear of the profile will immediately adhere to the surface. Therefore, it cannot be repositioned and the adhesive strip cannot be reused so care is required on initial fixing. Adhesive tape tactility strength gains over a short period of time at the following rates  20 minute = 50% , 1 hr = 75%, 24 hr = 90%, 72 hr = 100%. YES, the side profile can be removed at a later date and the gel can be cleaned away with any adhesive removal solution such as Goo Gone or medical adhesive removal wipes.
